I'm sorry Dan but cycling is intensely a team sport. Even a doped-up-to-the-eyeballs Lance Armstrong, would not have won 7 tours without his teammates, or domestiques, setting the pace for him up the climbs or shielding him from the wind. Sitting in the slipstream of your team mate is proven to save you up to 40% of energy use. That's energy you can save for the final sprint to the finish line or burst towards a summit.
You should get into cycling, it's a beautiful sport. Someone of your supposed intelligence would enjoy the tactics and intricacies of bike racing. There are some beautiful places to ride a bike around Wellington. What more beautiful way to free one's ketamine-addled mind. So next time you choose to make ridiculous assertions, which normally come at a rate of about 8 an episode, how about prefacing the diarrhea with, "I know nothing about this subject but it seems to my tiny mind that..." But then again, please don't stop being wrong. It's one of the best things about your podcast.
