Australia is going through a bit of an upheaval at the moment, but it’s still going to be shit. Dan and Dave reminisce about the Nats’ promises to stem the flow of Kiwis crossing the ditch, illustrated by this billboard of theirs which invoked that most Australian of political institutions: Kidnapping . Meanwhile, grumpy Brit voters are getting what they asked for . And at home, drink driving goes to the next level of ridiculousness with these two winners.
If you’re wondering about this donk business…

Mediterranean Cruises start at around nz$2000, but beware hidden costs such as drinks, the casino, onshore spending money and the IDF riddling your ass with 9mm bullets as they board your vessel.
Avast! PIRATES!
Turns out Dan was right for a change.

Conservative messages in popular music never seem to work on an artistic level, but as unintentional comedy they are absolute gold. We take a peek at this phenomenon via examples such as The Right Brothers , Wolverines, and some poor girl who will surely grow up to regret posting videos of herself singing over a Michael Jackson song about health care reform and Glen Beck .
We got wise to some of this stuff due to the awesome blog “Et tu, Mr Destructo? ”
The first video we talk about is this, from Wolverines.
If that somehow wasn’t to your tastes, you might enjoy Satellite High’s dis-track in response to it (you will)
Also talked about is The Right Brothers’ “Bush Was Right”.

Normally, we here at the Egonomist set aside Thursday nights for our tracking sessions. We have our day jobs to go to the next morning, so we tend to limit ourselves to having a moderate amount to drink and tend to record as early in the evening as is possible.
This week we recorded on a Friday. While we had friends over.
So join us for a musical adventure as we gripe and yarn over protest/political music, bloated prog and 1980s aural electro-abortions. Also a look at the fight going down between the writers of the soap opera Shortland Street and the city of Tauranga.
